Pelotonia 2023 Fall Campaign

Now that I have had a chance to regroup from an epic Ride Weekend at Pelotonia, my attention now turns to wrapping up my fundraising responsibilities for the year. I have begun the virtual Challenger portion of Pelotonia with a new twist: an event that I am calling the Pelotonia 2023 Fall Campaign. For the Challenger portion of the event, participants can set goals or participate in fun activities to raise money to fund the life saving cancer research that takes place at the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital at Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center here in Columbus.

I have added a new wrinkle to this event, instead of picking a couple of goals and fun activities to do for the duration of the event, I have decided to accomplish a smaller, and manageable goal each week for the next 8 weeks: Here are the goals I will attempt to accomplish during this event:

  • Week One (8/21/23): Read Two Wheels Good by Jody Rosen
  • Week Two (8/28/23): Walk 12 miles outside of work
  • Week Three (9/4/23): Complete a 25-mile training ride
  • Week Four (9/11/23): Complete three 1-mile runs
  • Week Five (9/18/23): Complete a two-day birthday weekend ride (24 miles on 9/23, 37 miles on 9/24)
  • Week Six (9/25/23): Complete five indoor workouts of any type (yoga, cardio, strength ect.)
  • Week Seven (10/2/2023): Complete a 40-mile training ride
  • Week Eight (10/9/2023): Run a 5K in a location of my choosing.

This campaign will run from now until the end of the fundraising period on October 15, 2023. If you wish to donate to help the fight against cancer (or to follow along with my progress on these challenges,) you can click here to get started.
