Author’s Note: This is about the Summer Reading Challenge that takes place at the Columbus Metropolitan Library in Ohio. If you are reading this post from elsewhere, I highly encourage you to check with your local library system to see if they offer a similar program in your area.
Summer is almost here, and that means its time for the annual Summer Reading Challenge at the Columbus Metropolitan Library. This year’s virtual reading challenge starts on Friday, May 29 and runs through July 31. I will once again participate this year, hoping for a much better result than last year, where I barely made it through “The Devil in the White City” by Erik Larson before calling it off due to my mental health breakdown last summer. The one thing that will not change is how I conduct my tracking, through the ReadSquared app (available on Google Play and the App Store for iOS)
This year, I am going to do some things much differently than I had in previous years, I will be reading different types of books and e-books than the usual content I have read in the past. This content may include romance, graphic novels, biographies and other works of fiction that I don’t normally read. New this year, I will be posting a short review of what I read here on the blog. I plan to read one book per week during this challenge for a total of 9 books.
Stay tuned for an announcement on this blogs social media channels (Facebook and Twitter) in regards to the first couple of books I will be reading. Speaking of that, I am off to find the first couple of books now……….
