Time for Something Positive

I have confess that I have posted some pretty depressing things on any of my social channels of late (whether it is this blog or on any of my active social media channels.) This sentiment also applies to the conversations that I have had with my co-workers, my doctor and my family and friends. Given what’s going on in my life, that is not a surprise at all. However, a recent conversation that I had with my grandmother called my approach on how I am handling things into question. After some time to think about things, I have made a decision to do a better job of being positive, whether it be online or in the real world.

This means that there are going to be some changes in what I post on-line, starting with this blog. While health and wellness will remain up for discussion from time to time, I will begin to pivot this blog back to a general blog about my life experiences, including travel, sports, and other topics that interest me. In addition, I will be continuing some already existing projects such as the My Favorite Things series of posts, and this year’s Summer Reading Challenge starting in June. Look for the first of those posts in the coming weeks.

I also have Cunningham Creative to work on as well, as that site will be the home to all of the creative stuff I am working on. Now that I have a couple of distractions behind me, I will have more time to work on things for this project, and hope to start posting material there later this summer.

As far as offline activities are concerned, I will be making huge improvements here. I am in the process of getting my fitness program back on track, and back to training for Pelotonia by the end of May. I also have a couple of more virtual running events that I am looking at entering between now and then. I will also add some activities that I have done in the past, but have not done very often recently. Earlier this spring, I acquired a new pair of rollerblades, and will soon acquire a new pair of ice hockey skates to resume skating on a regular basis.

Now that I have gotten my COVID-19 vaccine (did mine in one shot), I am looking forward to May 25, where I can finally get out of the house for non-work related matters a little more often than I have done over the last 15 months, and above all else, looking forward to having some semblance of a social life for the first time. For now, stay positive and I will see everyone soon.
