Hello Everyone, it has been a little bit since I wrote here on Cunningham’s Corner, but sadly the reason for this is that I have been dealing with my ailing 80 year old grandmother and the unholy trinity of breathing problems, diabetes and a degenerating left hip. I have also had to shuffle between my home and my sister’s apartment to help her on occasion due to her own medical problems. Between those health problems and my primary job, I simply have not had time to write here on the blog.
To that end, I have been forced to make some sacrifices along the way, the first major casualty was my other job down at Nationwide Arena. I informed them on April 12 that my grandmother and I would miss the remainder of the 2021 National Hockey League season as a result of her medical problems. The other major sacrifice has been some of the fun activities that I have wanted to do outside of work. I had plans for a significant content expansion here on Cunningham’s Corner, but as a result of all of the problems I have had, those are now on hold until things settle down.
As far as my mental health is concerned, I am holding up much better than I have at this point last year. I have been exercising when I can, and doing some guided meditations on the Calm and Headspace apps. I have also used this opportunity to get a few things that I have needed to catch up on, such as working on my yard, and getting a few projects done at home.
Now that things are settling down, I hope to get back to work on both of my blogs on a more regular basis as soon as possible. In the meantime, I would like to thank everyone for their understanding as I attempt to deal with this situation.
