Update on Back Rehab

Back in October, I revealed that I was diagnosed with a malformed spinal column. Since that time, I have made significant progress in terms of getting my back pain under control. After a checkup yesterday, I am now to the point where I will only need to go over once a month starting in early January.

This attempt to fix my back has been successful because I am using a different process, and staying a little closer to home in the process. During a previous attempt to fix my back, me and my grandmother had to drive to a chiropractor in Powell (not ideal-especially during rush hour.) During that attempt, the only thing that happened that my spine was adjusted, and that was it. That attempt ended in 2018, and I began looking for a new chiropractor.

After getting back to a Doctor for the first time in a long time, and with a recommendation from my sister, I was able to find a chiropractor in Dublin (a 10 minute drive from my house compared to the 25-30 drive to Powell.) This time, the process was different-I got an actual adjustment instead of getting poked around. The other difference is that after I got done. I got to lay down on a massage table, and after I had electrodes placed on my shoulder to stimulate my nerves, a roller would work on my back.

In addition to this, the chiropractor also gave me some stretches to work on to keep making progress at home. I have also incorporated a little bit of yoga into my workout routine, to help me work on my back (and help me work on my flexiblilty.) I have made more progress doing this in the span of six weeks, than in the three-plus years of going to the chiropractor in Powell.

Despite the progress that I have made, I still have some work to do in order to fully straighten out my back. I am confident that with the changes that I have implemented over the last few weeks, I will finally win the battle with my back pain.
