Now that the weather has finally started to feel like fall/winter around here, I can finally get to work on my indoor workouts (with some outdoor stuff sprinkled in-weather permitting.) I have already tried some yoga workouts on the Nike Training Club app, in addition to the stretches that I do to rehab my spinal column (Please read the ‘Turning the Corner’ post for the description of my back problems that I have suffered.) In the coming weeks, I will eventually add workouts from Adidas Training and Gaiam TV to my workout regiment in the next few weeks. I can stream these workouts to my new television in my bedroom using Chromecast.
I am starting with Yoga-based workouts to allow my body to get comfortable working out, and to allow me to loosen up some of my leg muscles (especially my hamstrings.) Once I am a little more comfortable working out in my bedroom, I will add in some cardio and weight training to hopefully shed a few inches off of my gut as I go.
I do have plans to stay active outside during the winter, namely walking and running (I have a 5K walk/run to get ready for in December, and a virtual 20K.) This year, unlike years past, I have enough cold weather gear to survive the unpredictable weather here in central Ohio.
I plan to get a gym membership at some point next year, once things return to somewhat of a state of normal. For now, I intend to make use of the resources that I do have to get into the best shape of my life. With that, I am off to start today’s workout.
