I first attempted to create a blog here on WordPress back in 2011, and after two unsuccessful attempts at an architecture and design blog back in 2013 and 2015, I had to shelve the project due to lack of time. When I hit the reset button on June 2nd, a lot had changed since I had created that blog. For starters, I had returned to a new block editor on WordPress (I am getting the hang of using this new feature, will need some time to work out the bugs.) It is much more intuitive than the classic editor.
The first thing that I changed was the layout of this site, from a theme that was suited to the original purpose of this blog, to the Shoreditch theme, better suited to a personal blog. This new layout will look much better on any device (such as a phone or a tablet.) It took me a couple of tries, but I finally got the home page right. The other pages are starting to come together, and should be ready at launch, or shortly thereafter. I also have the ability to create blog entries and read comments on the fly with the WordPress app (available on the App Store and Google Play.)
The next thing that I had changed was the theme of this blog. As I was putting this plan into motion, I realized that there was more to my life than architecture and design, and after careful consideration, decided to include some more elements of my life. These will include (but not limited to) personal memories, discussion of current events, sports, art, music and other topics. There are some topics that are off limits, such as non anecdotal discussion about my employers, and other sensitive topics.
I will post more behind the scenes details as this blog goes live.
